Welcome to the official website of Fellowship of Metro Dallas Forth Worth Churches (FDAC)
Desirous of perpetuating the edifying legacy of Yeye Oodua HID Awolowo, the origins of which was complementary, and contributed significantly to the success of the life mission of her husband, Chief Obafemi Awolowo;

Recognizing, therefore, that the legacy of Yeye Oodua HID Awolowo is a significant part of, and indeed completes the mission of the Obafemi Awolowo Foundation;

Eager to ensure that the outstanding qualities of Yeye Oodua HID Awolowo, her statesmanship and perseverance in the face of adversity continue to inform the national architecture of values and character building;

Taking account of the national and international reverberation of her work and achievement;

Pursuant to our wish to immortalise Yeye Oodua HID Awolowo and conscious of the need to institute a forum, in perpetuo, for that purpose;

The founding members of The Obafemi Awolowo Foundation have caused to be inaugurated The HID Awolowo Foundation as a contribution to institution building in a Nigeria improved by the ideals and cherished values for which she lived.

The HID Awolowo Foundation is thus established as a subsidiary institution to the Obafemi Awolowo Foundation. It is a research and advocacy institute, independent, non-profit and non-partisan, dedicated to propagating the ideals of Yeye Oodua HID Awolowo whose place in the political history of Nigeria is assured.

The HID Awolowo Foundation is a subsidiary of the Obafemi Awolowo Foundation. It is not affiliated to any political party or movement or to any religious organisation or interest group.

Its Objectives are as follows:

•  To foster the legacy of Yeye Oodua HID Awolowo and to disseminate literature and materials relating to her civic virtues and commitment to nation building;

•  To imbue in women the qualities of leadership and doggedness demonstrated by the matriarch and to advocate for the empowerment of women in all spheres of life;

•  To hold symposia, policy forums and sensitization lectures using her life and achievement as templates for resetting the national value system and for charting a road map out of Nigeria's persistent malaise.

The HID Awolowo Foundation will be governed by the same structures as the Obafemi Awolowo Foundation, i.e. the General Assembly, the Governing Council and the Board of Trustees.

There will, however, be constituted a non-executive body, known as the HID Awolowo Foundation Advisory Council. Membership of this Council will be drawn to include an appropriate mix of skills to ensure effortless actualisation of the mission of the Foundation.
